Achilles Smith an illustrator from Kansas currently living and studying in Bournemouth. In their free time, they represent the LGBTQ+ network at university, using their platform as a voice for queer students. Achilles’ goal is to become a concept/visual development artist.

Dreaming of Iowa is inspired by one of Achilles’ cherished memories: adventuring through the twists and turns of the Iowan corn fields with their older sister. When they were young, they would visit their family on their farm and pretend they were on another planet. A planet where the plants stretched high into the sky, and they were on the run from the space police! Achilles’ favourite aspect of the piece is the inclusion of their pink cowboy boots. Shoes that they NEVER took off and wore down until they no longer looked like shoes!
