Comfort Foods is a textile-based exploration of home, comfort and belonging, crafted for the unique experiences of university students. This interactive project presents three crocheted dishes, each inspired by the favourite comfort foods of Amara’s flatmates from her first year of university.

The work highlights how simple meals can evoke powerful connections to emotion, identity and the warmth of home, even amidst the challenges of student life. By representing these dishes through soft, tactile forms, the project invites reflection on how shared culinary traditions create bonds and nurture feelings of comfort in unfamiliar spaces.
